    Fabulous

My mum and I stayed at Ivy Boutique Hotel for 4 nights. Overall we were very impressed by the level of service and the facilities of the hotel. The hotel itself had only been opened 1 week and is brand new which added some sparkle. We were able to upgrade our room on check in for a modest charge and we receieved a suite with lots of room which was very comfortable. Our room was very clean and taken care of. We loved the boutique non chain nature of this hotel which made it very special. I would recommend this hotel to others - great value for money.

There were a few snagging issues which I put down to the hotel being new such as our room wasnt serviced every day and there was no operating safe in the room so we had to put our valuables in the hotels safe. Im hopeful that once the hotel is up and running these small issues will be addressed.

    Superb

Stylish, modern room layout, furnishings and fixtures. Outstandingly attentive and helpful doorman (Jose, I think was his name). Location was good, close Magnificent Mile shopping/entertainment area.

There was a disconnect between hotel and Booked.net on when check-in occurs. In any case, I think they were a little insensitive/bureaucratic check-in: Not a minute before their official time.

    Superb

It's a new hotel so it's extraordinarily current clean and well appointed. Incredible location near the Magnificent Mile. Very near a large number of wonderful small ethnic restaurants, to which the hotels knowledgeable staff directed us. There are too many good things about this new hotel to list. The bathroom was almost too inviting!

It's a new hotel so there are some bugs that need to be worked out. I could never get wifi on any device I brought. There is an Ethernet connection in the room, which I did not use. The tv went on and off intermittently for mysterious reasons. The mirror in the bathroom was too dark and the built in tv/radio in that mirror did not work. Our high tech lights went on at a touch, but did not go off as they were supposed to. Even these negatives would not, however, keep me from going back! I'm assuming they will be corrected

    Very good

The bathroom is awesome! Beds are comfortable.

The rug on our floor was curled up and we tripped on it a few times. Room 205. Should fix that. Rooms a bit high. Paid $309 a night, as compared to others, just a bit high. I wanted to stay there, as I am trying every hotel once in Chicago.

Staff was great. Location was excellent. Easy in-Easy out.

The chair in the room, although it looked pretty, was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture you could sit on. The website didn't list all the amenities that were offered which as annoying.

The location and the King suite is very spacious....nice and contemporary decor. Interesting to see a TV on the mirror in the bathroom.

The closet is too small for a suite.

    Superb

Location,, Stuff, and the comfort of the room.

During night we heard noise coming from the ceiling, looks like cracks of something coming from the AC ducts. It was very annoying. I complained about it and I was told they will send the maintenance guys to take a look at it. However, it continued for the second night as well.

The Ivy is a newly refurbished building. The style is modern/contemporary yet warm because of very upscale materials. I brought my mom along and was a worried it was going to be a little out there, however she was very comfortable. There are 16 floors-with only about 6 rooms on each floor so very nice when you get off the elevators. Roof bar nice as well as small bar with a cool vibe in the lobby. The bldg is about 2 blocks east of mich ave. Great for shopping and most sites.

Two things could almost make this a deal breaker. 1. The bathroom mirrors...UGH!!! I know a man designed this place. You have a modern bath with a state of art tv built in, beautiful fixtures ect... and the mirrors are so dark and smoked, it is absolutely impossible to get ready. There is a small makeup mirror but it's dark too! If I would have had a major evening function it would have been impossible to get ready. Even blow drying my hair was annoying. I literally went outside to put on my makeup,,Vain? Yes I know but bathrooms should have lighting. 2. If you r looking for a view or care about the immediate area..there's construction sites across the street and the building next door looks abandoned

My husband and I enjoy the modern twist of the boutique. We love how the room is longer than it is wide. It is almost like a suite without paying for a suite. The bathroom is gorgeous. Enjoy the fact that the windows open to allow for fresh air.

The bed is very comfortable. However, there is no sheet between the comforter and bed. It made for a very hot evening. The mirror in the bathroom does not have much lighting either. The phones did not work this stay.
